Well I ended up using 19k and have 1k left for adding some crates and other junk to the scene. I am currently doing some uv mapping and some first texture tests. You can see how it currently looks like here:

If you are one of those still using anything below R11 then you seriously need to rethink your position. I don't think there has ever been more of a reason to upgrade. Non linear animation, faster rendering, Collada import/export, Projection Man, New GI Engine, Physical Sky, New Bodypaint features and much more. Check the latest and greatest version from "Maxon" (creators of Cinema 4D) here:

Thought I'd post a little bigger version/link to my current WIP of the "Splash Damage" Challenge. Here it goes (comments and critique are always apprectiated):

Splash Damage Environment WIP2
Splash Damage Environment WIP3

Well I thought I'd give the "Art Challenge" over at "Splash Damage" a try. Can't hurt to work on a nice environment piece after all. The challenge is to stay within 20.000 triangles. I started modeling today and I am close to 17k already (I might have to get rid of the chains in my scene). Anyhow, it's fun and I hope to show more soon...

You have this great game idea but no one who does awesome and inspiring concepts based on your ideas. You need a full team of creative folks who can manage not only 2D but also 3D? You would like to outsource but don't know where to look for help? Check out "Opus Artz" at http://opusartz.com
Needless to say that those guys are some of the best in the industry. Oh and hey, I am even part of "Opus Artz".

I just wanted to give everybody the chance to check out "Peter Trappe" at http://www.petertrappe.com. He is not only  a friend of mine but also a great modeler and texture artist who can take on any challenge you throw at him. Check out his gallery/art and give the man a chance if you have a job that needs to be done. Peter and I have been working together in the past and he is very reliable. Check him out:

For those of you who haven't heard about the "Unity Developer Magazine" - you seriously need to check it out! Lots of great articles and tutorials inside each issue. The second issue just shipped and is just as great as the first issue. Please check the link below for more info:

Behave! Now! 10/26/2008

What do angry ants do when they have too much time on their hands? Destroy the world? Nah, let's get serious. Check out Emil's (aka AngryAnt) Behave project. The "Behave" Project is a system for designing, integrating and running behavior logic using behavior trees for simulated characters in "Unity" projects. More info can be gathered here:

Jake Fletcher and I entered the Unity Award 2008 contest this year and the final winners have just been announced. Well, we are not in the list of winners but we both actually won more than we could wish for. Because of our entry we made good contacts and even got freelance jobs. What else can you ask for? Anyhow, click on the link to read more about the contest and the winners:
